THIS is the bizarre moment a man covers himself with a bed sheet before brutally beating a former co-worker.
CCTV shows Javier De Brito Jardim, 36, wandering Cannon Street, in London, wrapped up in the white blanket.
Footage from December 1, 2024, reveals the moment he stops in an alcove to drape the bed sheet over his head and wrap it around his shoulders.
He can be seen making his way to Poultry, his victim’s place of work.
De Brito Jardim would later launch a brutal attack on his former colleague, beating her with an iron bar and his fists.
She was rushed to hospital with a fractured skull, a small bleed on the brain, and forced to undergo surgery.
Video captured after the horror shows De Brito Jardim strolling casually with the bed sheet crumpled under his arm as he heads to a bus stop on London Bridge.
Cops arrested him as he tried boarding a flight at Heathrow Airport the following day.
The brave victim told officers she suspected De Brito Jardim launched his cruel attack over a work row.
De Brito Jardim had allegedly been drinking in the workplace and was given a warning in mid-November.
It is believed he thought the victim had reported him to his supervisors.
The victim said she hardly spoke to De Brito Jardim but asked him if he was okay to which he replied “You will see, you will see” and he was sacked a week later.
De Brito Jardim pleaded guilty to Grievous Bodily Harm and possession of an offensive weapon.
He was sentenced to four and half years in prison last month.
Detective Constable Rowan Smith, at the City of London Police, said: “Javier De Brito Jardim thought he could come into the City without being noticed. The extensive CCTV network across the Square Mile tracked his every movement, as soon as he got off the bus to make his way to attack his victim.
“Security footage picked up everything he did, there was no getting away from the cameras which spotted him covering himself with a bedsheet, carrying out the assault, leaving his victim seriously injured, and then leaving the City.
“I want to thank the victim for supporting our investigation. An identification from her had enabled us to find Jardim and stop him from fleeing on a flight to Beijing, and along with CCTV evidence, led us to secure this conviction.
“Our warning to criminals; don’t come into the City to commit an offence. If you do, you risk being spotted by CCTV cameras and we will track you down, arrest you and bring you to justice.”
