Current Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris is now officially part of the Beyhive.
At a rally in Houston on Friday, Beyoncé graced the stage to introduce Harris, but not before giving her own remarks.
After a round of raucous applause, the legendary singer shifted the tone.
“We are at the precipice of an incredible shift, the brink of history,” she said. “I’m not here as a celebrity…I’m here as a mother. A mother who cares deeply about the world my children and all of our children live in.”
Beyoncé, a native of Houston, went on to encourage everyone in the room, and those watching from elsewhere in America, to get out and vote.
“For all the men and women in this room, and…around the country, we need you,” she said. “Your voice has power and magnitude. Your vote is one of the most valuable tools, and we need you.”
After even more applause, the legendary singer introduced “the next President of the United States,” whose campaign anthem is “Freedom” by Beyoncé.
Former President Donald Trump was also in Texas on Friday, speaking at a press conference in Austin and taping a podcast interview for “The Joe Rogan Experience” before leaving for Michigan, where he spoke at a rally in Traverse City on Friday evening after arriving three hours late.
