Prime Video has appointed Andrew Bennett to lead its teams in Europe from January 2025, with Barry Furlong set to exit at the end of the year.
Bennett, who has been with Amazon since 2012, will oversee the various European Prime Video teams along with business development of third-party devices. He will be relocating to London from the U.S. for the role.
Furlong, who is currently VP of Prime Video EMEA, has been with Amazon for 11 years, but will exit at the end of 2024. He has led efforts in Europe for the past four years, and added the Middle East and Africa to his duties last year.
As part of Bennett’s promotion to Vice President, Prime Video Europe & Global Business Development, Sandhya Iyer has been upped to Global Head of Distribution and Partnerships for Prime Video, where she will lead business development, partner marketing, and the partner engineering team, globally.
In an email to staff sent in the past few minutes, Prime Video International VP Kelly Day said: “I’m pleased to announce that Andrew Bennett will be expanding his scope to VP of Prime Video Europe & Global Business Development. Andrew will bring his 12+ years Prime Video experience working across content acquisition, partnerships and business development, marketing, and product/tech, to his expanded role leading our Prime Video teams in Europe. He will be moving to London to sit with our European Prime Video regional teams early next year.
“To support Andrew’s increased scope, Sandhya Iyer will now lead our 3PDP team, reporting to Andrew, and will lead business development, partner marketing, and the partner engineering team, globally. I want to thank Barry for his efforts and leadership over the past four years where we have seen considerable growth for Prime Video across Europe. I appreciate that he will continue to support our teams in Europe through the end of the year and wish him every success in his future endeavors.”
