TRAINS between Heathrow Airport and London Paddington have been cancelled tonight sparking travel chaos.
National Rail said a “trespasser” had got onto the tracks causing “major disruption” throughout the evening.
It also reported damage to the overhead line equipment between London Paddington and Reading.
It’s unclear if the two things are directly linked.
Services including the Elizabeth line are expected to be impacted until at least 8.45pm.
A National Rail spokesperson said: “Damage to the overhead line equipment between London Paddington and Reading, means all lines are blocked.
“As a result, trains running between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport / Reading may be cancelled or severely delayed by up to 60 minutes.
“Major disruption is expected until 20:45. London Paddington station is currently exit only.
“An earlier trespass incident near London Paddington was further disrupting services but this has now been resolved.”
A TfL statement said: “Severe delays between Abbey Wood and Reading / Heathrow Airport due to a trespassers on the track earlier.
“Tickets are being accepted on London Underground.”
The GWR website reads: “Due to damage to the overhead electric wires between Reading and London Paddington all lines are blocked.
“Train services running to and from these stations may be delayed. Disruption is expected until 8.30pm.”
