The Bachelor alum Vanessa Grimaldi revealed she recently suffered a miscarriage, two years after welcoming her first child, a baby boy, with husband Joshua Wolfe.
On Monday, the 36-year-old reality star, who got engaged to Nick Viall on season 21 of The Bachelor, shared the devastating news with her more than 664,000 Instagram followers.
After receiving numerous ‘uncomfortable’ questions about whether she and Wolfe had any plans to expand their family anytime soon, the mother-of-one opened up about her loss that occurred ‘a few months ago.’
‘I wasn’t sure how to share this. But, I knew I wanted to. I knew I wanted to help other women feel less alone in their miscarriage journey. she began. ‘I know the shock, the pain, the confusion, the feeling of hopelessness and uncomfortable “when are you having another” conversation all too well.’
She continued: ‘A few months ago, I had the 2 biggest surprises: finding out I was pregnant, then finding out I miscarried.’

The teacher went on to write about what has helped her heal.
‘It was a long few months of allowing my body to let go,’ the former TV personality. ‘[I had] ultrasounds, blood tests, doctors appointments, conversations with family members, friends and sometimes strangers,’ she wrote.
She continued: ‘It was a hard yet bonding process that made me feel less alone and ultimately helped me heal.’
Grimaldi went on to tell other women that have suffered from miscarriages that they are ‘not alone’ and that ‘it is more common than you think.’
‘I promise, with time, you will regain hope again,’ she assured others in a post that was liked by several members of Bachelor Nation, including Amanda Stanton and Clare Crawley.
Grimaldi previously found love with Viall, 43, on season 21 of The Bachelor, which aired in 2017.
The former couple, however, broke off their engagement just five months after the finale aired on ABC.
At the time, they released a statement explaining that they ‘gave this relationship’ their all and were ‘saddened’ not to have ‘the fairy-tale ending’ they ‘hoped for.’

‘It was absolutely beautiful!’ Vanessa gushed of the moment Josh popped the question atop the Saint-Louis Gate in Quebec City, Canada.
‘I knew we were going to get engaged eventually, but I had no idea it was going to happen when it did,” she continued.
‘Josh is the first person I am with where I am at complete ease and where I never second-guessed his love for me. I’ve been ready to say YES! I am the luckiest woman!’
