Ava Sambora is toasting her engagement!
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the 27-year-old daughter of Heather Locklear and Richie Sambora and her fiancé Tyler Farrar celebrated their engagement at a party with their family and friends.
A source exclusively tells PEOPLE of the elegant soirée, “It was a beautiful day spent celebrating with family and loved ones.”
The couple invited about 50 guests to their celebration, and Ava used the occasion to continue a longstanding childhood tradition — having her friends stay overnight for a slumber party. The source says Ava’s musician father Richie, 65, has known her friends since they were all children and was happy to help with the party.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, Ava showed off some photos from the engagement party on Instagram.
“Had the most beautiful night celebrating our engagement! Thank you for being my biggest blessing Tyler William 🤍 #engagedaf,” she wrote in the caption of the post, tagging Farrar.
In the shots, Farrar sports an all-white suit and Ava complements him in a white halter dress with pearl strap details. They can be seen kissing and embracing. The party featured a white, heart-shaped cake with the words “Engaged AF” written in icing on the top, and a sign welcoming guests to the event read: “Welcome to Tyler & Ava’s engagement party! We’re so happy you’re here!”
The couple first announced their engagement in a joint Instagram post back in February.

“Hard launch!!” they wrote alongside sweet photos captured as Farrar got down on one knee and proposed to Ava.
In one image, Farrar presented Ava with an engagement ring as they stood surrounded by lit candles in front of an arch of white roses by the ocean at sunset. Another shot featured Ava showing off her diamond sparkler as the newly engaged pair embraced.
Proud mother Locklear, 63, wrote in the comments section at the time: “My two favorite people💗.”
Richie shares a special bond with his daughter. The Bon Jovi guitarist — who left the band in 2013 in order to raise Ava — told PEOPLE in November: “Ava is killing it.”
“She’s basically practicing psychology,” the rocker added, sharing that Ava recently got her master’s degree and is “getting ready to go for a doctorate.”
The musician also told PEOPLE he was so happy about Ava’s schooling that he surprised her with a retriever puppy.
Ava also is very close to her mother and has lent her a lot of support over the years as she has battled with substance abuse.
“Ava has a very loving and supportive relationship with her mom,” a source previously told PEOPLE of their bond. “And as painful [as] it is, she knows that it’s in her mom’s hands and God’s hands. All she can do is like anybody else, just pray and support.”
