Over the course of a week, authorities in the Inland Empire made nearly a dozen arrests in addition to seizing drugs and firearms as part of “Operation Consequences.”
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department stated on Tuesday that officials were focused on investigating gang members and people who are prohibited from possessing firearms.
Enforcement was conducted between June 9 and June 15, SBSD said, at five different locations throughout the county:
- 28000 block of Old Highway 58, Barstow
- 1200 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, Rialto
- 60000 block of Terry Lane, Landers
- 2000 block of College Avenue, San Bernardino
- 7400 block of Eucalyptus Avenue, Highland
“During investigations, 23 firearms were seized, three of which were ghost guns,” the sheriff’s department said. “Additionally, suspected methamphetamine and cocaine were located and confiscated. Investigators made seven felony arrests and four misdemeanor arrests during this operational period.”
According to SBSD, Proposition 36 — which was passed last November and increases penalties for drug and theft crimes — applied to two of the arrests.
“Operation Consequences” focuses on targeted crime suppression efforts in the High Desert region. It is set to continue over the next several months.
