2025 NFL draft: Falcons met with three more prospects, including running back Jarquez Hunter
The 2025 NFL draft is just around the corner and the Atlanta Falcons are wisely using these last few weeks to get their ducks in a row in time for Round 1. Head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot attended the pro days for Marshall and Ohio State over the last week and they’ve been doing plenty of other work behind the scenes.
According to Justin Melo of the Draft Network, the Falcons have met with three potential mid-round prospects. They had a formal meeting with Kansas State cornerback Jacob Parrish and a top-30 visit with William & Mary Tribe offensive lineman Charles Grant. The team also held a virtual meeting with Auburn running back Jarquest Hunter.
Parrish should be on the team’s radar since Dee Alford has yet to re-sign in free agency. The Kansas State standout could be a good long-term replacement at the nickel spot. He has five interceptions over the last two seasons. The Falcons re-signed Mike Hughes, who should continue to start on the outside where he had some success last season.
Grant is an athletic offensive tackle who is ranked as the 97th player on Pro Football Focus‘ big board. He has played exclusively at left tackle throughout his college career and he could be a nice developmental option behind Jake Matthews.
The Falcons don’t have a major need at running back with Tyler Allgeier and Bijan Robinson on the roster but could look to add a quality third back in case they eventually lose Allgeier in free agency. Hunter rushed for 1,201 yards and eight touchdowns for Auburn last season.
Robinson, the former No. 8 pick, finished third in the NFL with 1,456 rushing yards last season. Adding another productive back would help take pressure off of quarterback Michael Penix Jr. The Falcons have five total picks in the 2025 NFL draft (see below).
