AT least one person has died and another 20 have been injured in a horror bus smash in a popular tourist destination.
The packed tourist coach was traveling from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic when it reportedly skidded off the road while taking the notorious Cumayasa 10 curve.
Emergency services, including 12 ambulances, raced to La Romana district late Sunday evening after receiving reports of a horror smash.
Rescue teams were deployed to help the injured, who were then transported to a hospital in Villa Hermosa.
The deceased traveller has not been formally identified, though the Civil Defence said preliminary reports indicate the person is a foreign national.
