AT least 16 people have died in a horror head-on smash between a bus and an ambulance.
The St Mary’s ambulance and packed bus collided head-on in the Ashanti Region of Ghana late last night.

It’s understood the ambulance was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it crashed into the oncoming bus.
The bus was transporting passengers from Kumasi to Bechem when the smash occurred near the small town of Potrikrom.
Eyewitnesses told local media the aftermath was “horrifying”.
Ashanti regional minister Dr Frank Amoakohene shared his condolences online: “I’ve received briefing about the tragic accident that has claimed the lives of 16 innocent souls at Potrikrom in the Ahafo Ano South East district. My deepest condolences go to their families. May their souls rest in peace.”
An investigation has been launched into the tragic incident.
