ARLINGTON, Va. (DC News Now) — Arlington County Fire Department’s Office of the Fire Marshal said it arrested a 77-year-old man who is accused of having and setting off explosives in the Bluemont area.
The fire marshal’s office said beginning on Aug. 20, it received complaints about “loud noises” from people who live along the Custis Trail. The office’s investigation led it to Charles Peters, 77, whom they arrested on Aug. 30 after investigators executed a search warrant at his home in the 5700 block of Washington Blvd.
As of Friday afternoon, Peters was in the Arlington County Detention Facility without bond.
