If you’re in the market for a new four-legged friend, Los Angeles Animal Services is celebrating National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day with the help of Los Angeles City Councilmember Eunisses Hernandez, 1st District, this weekend.
Hernandez will be joined by philanthropist Dr. Gary Michelson, an animal welfare advocate and chair of the Michelson Found Animals Better Neighbor Project, and Assemblyman Mark Gonzalez at the North Central Animal Shelter, 3201 Lacy St., for a Pet Adoption and Wellness Day on Saturday.
The event includes:
- Reduced adoption fees for dogs, cats and kittens
- All adopted pets will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and licensed for L.A. city residents
- Free ID tag engraving, training advice, toys, food and more
In addition, Wellness with Hectic Paws Animal Rescue will offer free wellness care for up to 60 pets (limit two per household), including vaccinations (DHPP, FVRCP, Bordetella, rabies), deworming and microchipping.
