SANTA ANA — An Anaheim man was fatally wounded in a residential area of Santa Ana, authorities said Sunday.
Officers dispatched at 8:50 p.m. Saturday to the 2000 block of South Wood Street, south of Edinger Avenue and west of Bristol Street, in response to a shooting call, located the victim suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to a Santa Ana Police Department watch commander.
Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he later died from his gunshot wounds.
Police later identified the victim as Trino Steven Leon, 48, of Anaheim.
The motive for the shooting was under investigation and detectives were working to identify and locate additional witnesses who could provide information about the shooting, a police statement said.
