Fans flew into a tizzy when George Clooney debuted his dramatic new hairdo during a recent lunch date with his wife Amal.

After years as Hollywood’s reigning silver fox, the 63-year-old swapped out his salt-and-pepper locks for a brown hue that had his longtime admirers in shock.

He joins a long line of stars who have experienced sudden changes in their appearance, possibly hoping the public would fail to notice.

From Blake Lively‘s nose and Renee Zellweger‘s cheeks to Zac Efron‘s face, many celebrities have left fans scratching their heads over their evolving features.

Some of them, like Sharon Osbourne, have publicly admitted to falling back on measures like plastic surgery and Ozempic – but for the most part, their transformations have remained behind a tantalizing shroud of showbiz mystery.

Blake Lively has never confirmed or denied the rumors that have swirled around her for years, alleging she once had a nose job.

Nor has she ever admitted to availing herself of certain cosmetic procedures that do not require surgical intervention, like Botox or fillers. 

Now 37, she first became a nationwide star in her early 20s on Gossip Girl, gaining attention for her baby-faced looks.

Over the years however, observers have noted that her nose appears to be smaller and narrower than it was when she first entered showbiz.

Last year the Instagram personality Dana Omari-Harrell, who runs the plastic surgery-themed account @IGFamousByDana, made a sensational claim about Blake.

‘A little birdie told me Blake Lively’s gorgeous rhinoplasty was performed by Dr. Thomas Romo in NYC (who graduated from Baylor Medical in Houston),’ she alleged.

The subject of rhinoplasties came up in Blake’s spiraling legal battle with Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director on last year’s film It Ends With Us.

In a lawsuit against Blake, Justin accused her of jokingly advising him to get a nose job – an claim he backed up with video footage of her making the comment. 

Zac Efron’s generous jawline

Fans have spent years picking apart the potential reasons for Zac Efron’s facial transformation over the past decade.

As his jawline widened and his nose assumed more of an hourglass shape, online commentators found themselves with more questions than answers.

Finally, as the speculation grew to a fever pitch, Zac broke his silence on the subject in 2022 to relay his side of the story to his public.

He stated that the changes to his face could be traced back to 2013, when he slipped at home and struck his face on a granite fountain edge.

The fall was serious enough to knock him out, and when he came to, his chin bone was dangling from the rest of his skull, he told Men’s Health.

During his recovery, some of the muscles in his face were not functioning at full capacity, so the masseter muscles in his cheek and jaw ‘grew’ to make up for them and ‘just got really, really big,’ Zac claimed.

He insisted he was unaware of all the online speculation about his face, only finding out about the chatter when his mother asked him if he had gone under the knife. 

Last year, plastic surgeon Dr. Mark Salamos gave DailyMail.com his theory about the way Zac looked in 2022, nearly a decade on from the accident.

‘In 2022 his jaw looks really square which has changed his oval face shape somewhat,’ he said. ‘I would suggest that perhaps he wasn’t happy with the previous surgery and so he’s gone back and had his jaw augmented – possibly with a chin implant or further orthognathic surgery.’

Over the years, she has acquired the cloven, angular features and the impressively willowy frame of a classic screen siren.

Her face fell under especially sharp scrutiny in 2014, thanks to her wide-eyed appearance at the Elle Magazine 21st Annual Women in Hollywood awards.

She found herself dogged by rumors that she had undergone plastic surgery, and she staunchly tamped down the speculation in 2016.

Renee attributed her new look to the lifestyle she had been leading amid her acting hiatus, which at that point had lasted six years.

‘Not that it’s anyone’s business, but I did not make a decision to alter my face and have surgery on my eyes,’ she insisted to the Huffington Post.

‘I’m glad folks think I look different. I’m living a different, happy, more fulfilling life, and I’m thrilled that perhaps it shows,’ added the Chicago star.

In the years since, she has continued to be the subject of speculation about her face, including when she covered this February’s issue of British Vogue.

She was met with social media comments such as ‘Please someone leak the non-altered photo,’ ‘Doesn’t look like her at all,’ and ‘Make her look like Rene please.’

Dr. Mark Salomos recently told the MailOnline: ‘Yes of course we can all see that her face has changed somewhat, but the main reason for this is that she has lost weight and as she’s got older her face has got thinner.’

He added: ‘I suspect she has had an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) as the eyes are far less hooded now. Not sure about the lower, she may have had lazers for tightening.’

His view was that ‘it’s likely she’s had some non-surgical skin tightening to her face but I don’t think she’s had anything else done. She’s obviously happy in her personal life and it reflects in how she looks.’

Justin Bieber’s fans have regularly expressed fears for his health in recent weeks – but another rumor about his medical history has also been doing the rounds.

Last year, plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Linkov suggested that Justin may have undergone a hair transplant, and even showed pictures to buttress his claims.

‘When I look at his forehead, [the hairline is now] much flatter, it doesn’t have that recession,’ Dr. Gary Linkov said on TikTok last May.

‘And when the hair is wet, you can tell the regularity of the [hairline], so it looks like maybe he did have a transplant.’

He added: ‘There’s no medication that’s going to turn a receding hairline around. I think, based on [photos], I would say, he has likely had a hair restoration surgery.’

But closer observation allows one to examine the way the softer features of her youth have given way to a more chiseled, statuesque visage.

She has always firmly denied going under the knife for cosmetic purposes, insisting in 2007 that she had ‘never’ had plastic surgery.

However some doctors have publicly shared their doubts about her claims, including one who aired out his allegations on Instagram last year.

Comparing images of Demi in 2019 and 2024, London’s Dr. Johnny Betteridge claimed her face appeared to be more ‘lifted’ in her more recent public outings.

‘Notice how her face has changed from how we saw it a few years ago to now, a much more lifted and tighter appearance. These features are likely attributed to a deep plane face and neck-lift,’ he asserted. 

He also shared his theory that she may have removed the excess skin and fat from her eyelids, in a procedure known as a blepharoplasty.

Observers have flocked to social media to exchange their wild theories about what procedures they believe she has undergone.

Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Daniel Barrett, who specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, shared his own tongue-in-cheek take not long ago.

‘I don’t even know if that’s plastic surgery, or if she was abducted by aliens,’ he joked when asked about Lindsay. ‘So you can’t even put that one on there.’

Her current luminous complexion is a far cry from her weathered appearance in 2012, during her years-long substance-fueled flameout.

Amid the massed ranks of Hollywood figures who have artificially changed their looks, Sharon Osbourne has always stood out for her refreshing candor.

A little over a year ago, however, she declared that she was swearing off plastic surgery because of a botched facelift she underwent in 2021.

‘I had a facelift three-and-a-half years ago and it was the worst because the guy messed up,’ the wife of Ozzy Osbourne told Best magazine.

‘I was left with one eye higher than the other. It took a year to put it all right. I frightened myself with what happened,’ she explained.

‘I won’t do anymore – there’s nothing left to stretch, pull, cut. It’s taken years for me to say it but this is me. It’s time to leave well alone.’ 

Sharon has also been frank about the fact that she has used Ozempic to shed weight, ultimately losing 42lbs, which she came to feel was too much.

‘I currently weigh just over 7st and I need to put on 10lbs but I don’t seem to be able to,’ she admitted near the end of 2023.
