Netflix on Monday named Single Lady as the title of its newest comedy special from Ali Wong, first announced back in May, also revealing that it’ll premiere on October 8.
Filmed at The Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, as part of Netflix Is a Joke Fest 2024, the special will be Wong’s fourth for the service on the heels of Ali Wong: Don Wong (2022), Ali Wong: Hard Knock Wife (2018), and Ali Wong: Baby Cobra (2016). In it, she opens up about post-divorce life and the quest for love. Wong also served as its director and exec produced alongside John Irwin.
One of the world’s most high-profile comics, Wong was named as one of Time’s 100 Most Influential People in both 2020 and 2023. Outside of her stand-up, she’s best known for exec producing and starring in the first season of Netflix’s Beef, which brought her a pair of Emmys, as well as a Golden Globe, a SAG Award and other accolades. Previously, Wong also produced and starred in Netflix’s popular rom-com Always Be My Maybe. Other screen credits include films like Birds of Prey and The Hero, along with voice roles in Netflix’s Ask the StoryBots, Emmy-winning adult animated comedy Big Mouth, Ada Twist, Scientist, and upcoming series Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld.
Wong is represented by UTA and Hansen, Jacobson, Teller.
