Broadcaster Alan Jones allegedly assaulted his 11th victim by grabbing and squeezing his bottom, according to the New South Wales police prosecutor.
The alleged “assault with act of indecency” occurred in Tamworth in June 2013, according to documents released by the NSW local criminal court.
Jones allegedly “did assault Complainant ‘K’ and at the time of the assault committed an act of indecency on Complainant ‘K’, to wit, grab and squeeze left bottom”, according to detectives.
The additional charge has been listed for Tuesday at Sydney’s Downing Centre where Jones already had a scheduled committal hearing for the other 34 charges.
Jones, who turns 84 on Thursday, has been excused from attending the committal hearing but it remains unclear whether he will have to face court for the new charge.
Police said on Friday they had charged the former Sydney radio host with the additional count of assault with act of indecency.
Jones appeared for the first time at the Downing Centre local court in December, where it was confirmed he would face a jury trial and his lawyer said he would plead not guilty to the 34 charges.
The offences allegedly occurred in different locations across NSW including Newtown, Sydney city, Fitzroy Falls, Alexandria and Tamworth, according to court documents.
Police set up Strike Force Bonnefin in March last year to investigate alleged indecent assaults and sexual touching incidents allegedly involving Jones.
Historical allegations of indecent assault against Jones were raised in December 2023 by the Sydney Morning Herald’s investigative reporter Kate McClymont.
Jones denied all wrongdoing and said he was planning legal action against Nine newspapers for the “demonstrably false” allegations.
The former 2GB broadcaster was arrested at his luxury unit in Sydney’s Circular Quay on 18 November last year after a “long, thorough, protracted” investigation.
In November, when the first charges were laid against Jones, the NSW police commissioner, Karen Webb, told reporters police were anticipating more people coming forward. Since then police have twice announced new charges.
According to the charge sheets, there were allegedly 11 offences against one man, Complainant C, between 2008 and 2009, including touching his inner thigh, rubbing his penis and kissing him on the mouth.
Complainant C was an employee of Jones, adding an element of aggravation because he was under the authority of Jones, the charge sheets said.
Police allege Jones kissed another man “using his tongue” at Fitzroy Falls in 2017, resulting in a charge of assault with an act of indecency.
In 2001, the broadcaster is alleged to have touched and fondled the penis of another man and on a separate occasion “kissed him on the lips”.
Police allege in another case Jones stroked a man’s right thigh, touched his bottom and “touched his penis pulling his scrotum”.
In 2012 he is alleged to have “touched and squeezed” the bottom of a man.
In total, Jones is facing 11 counts of aggravated indecent assault, 12 counts of assault with act of indecency, two counts of sexually touching another person without consent and two counts of common assault.
The ages of the victims are not disclosed in the charge sheets but police have said previously the youngest was 17 at the time of the offence.
Outside court after his first appearance Jones told reporters he was not guilty.
“I will not be engaging in a running commentary in the media but I want you to understand this,” he said. “These allegations are all either baseless or they distort the truth.
“I have never indecently assaulted these people. The law assumes that I’m not guilty.
“And I am not guilty.”
