Abbie Chatfield was all smiles as she stepped out for a romantic stroll with her new boyfriend Adam Hyde on Wednesday.

The Bachelor star, 28, appeared in good spirits as she walked arm-in-arm with the Peking Duk frontman, who she officially went public with earlier this week.

Their cosy outing came hours after Abbie broke down in tears during an emotional Instagram video as she discussed her dating struggles while suffering from ADHD.

For the stroll, Abbie cut a casual figure in black flared leggings, which she styled with a vibrant green padded jacket.

She kept comfortable in a pair of chunky black boots and showed off her fresh-faced beauty as she went make-up free for the outing.

Her musician boyfriend Adam opted for a sporty ensemble as he wore black shorts and a dark The North Face hoodie.

He completed his look with a pair of Vans trainers and carried his essentials $198 Fred Perry duffle bag.

The couple put on a very loved-up display as they walked holding hands during their coffee run, while Abbie couldn’t keep the smile off her face.

The jovial outing came just hours after Abbie shared a video of herself breaking down in tears while discussing her ADHD struggles.

The reality TV star, who was last year admitted to a health retreat for ‘burnout’, shared the lengthy video on Instagram early on Wednesday morning.

She began the video by thanking her fans for their support following her relationship reveal with Adam as she candidly shared her past dating struggles.

‘You know how hard of the time I’ve had recently and, you know, particularly in the past year or so,’ she said.

‘Like, all of 2023 and also in general, with men and dating and just in life.’

Abbie went on to explain how it is harder for her to be in a relationship than other women because of her battles with ADHD and ‘trauma’.

ADHD is a behavioural condition defined by inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

‘I never thought that someone would love me so much of my ADHD or with other trauma that I have. Like, CPTSD [Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder] and all these things,’ she tearfully said.

‘A lot of the stuff you guys don’t even know about, that’s happened. There’s been a lot of things really, really bad things that have happened, particularly last year,’ she added.

The Masked Singer judge said she had been cheated on ‘a million times’, but that didn’t even touch the surface of what she has been through.

‘Someone cheating on me isn’t even like, it’s not even like the surface layer of what I’ve been through in my life and in relationships,’ she said.

She explained that her new romance with Adam has broken the mold as she gushed over her new partner.

She said she previously had a habit of hiding her personality from her partners – a behaviour she referred to as ‘masking’ – but doesn’t need to do this with Adam.

‘I always thought that I’d be settling in some way or masking in my relationships, and last night walking dinner and I just realised I never mask with Adam,’ she enthused.

Abbie concluded by sharing an encouraging message to fellow fans with ADHD who also struggle with finding love.

‘There is someone out there [for you], and if there isn’t, you’re going be OK and you’re better off alone,’ she said.

‘I know that’s weird to hear… but I wish that when I was single, I just let myself be a jellyfish in the ocean and like ride the wave rather than freaking out about it.’

After being hit by romance rumours, Abbie officially confirmed her new boyfriend’s identity on her It’s A Lot podcast earlier this week.

She opened up about their first date and ‘crazy sex life’ in the wide-ranging and unfiltered chat with Adam on the show.

Of their first date, she said: ‘I was so anxious, I was like “I don’t know if I have enough things talk to this person about”. But we had this really good date, and it was actually still the best date of my life.’

Adam agreed, adding: ‘It was incredible. It was like something out of a fairytale.’

Abbie explained her crush on Adam started developing more and more as they continued to spend time together.

‘Then we had sex for the first time, and it was fine,’ she said before revealing how they spent time together by the pool a few weeks later.

‘We sat by the pool and drank margaritas… and the sex went crazy,’ she continued.

Abbie told how Adam makes her feel ‘safe and calm all the time’ and gushed that their relationship is ‘so good and perfect’.

‘Not only are we so in love, but we also have a really healthy relationship,’ she added.

WHAT IS ADHD?

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a behavioural condition defined by inattentiveness, hyperactivity and impulsiveness.

It affects around five per cent of children in the US. Some 3.6 per cent of boys and 0.85 per cent of girls suffer in the UK.

Symptoms typically appear at an early age and become more noticeable as a child grows. These can also include:

  • Constant fidgeting
  • Poor concentration
  • Excessive movement or talking
  • Acting without thinking
  • Inability to deal with stress
  • Little or no sense of danger
  • Careless mistakes
  • Mood swings
  • Forgetfulness
  • Difficulty organising tasks
  •  Continually starting new tasks before finishing old ones
  • Inability to listen or carry out instructions

Most cases are diagnosed between six and 12 years old. Adults can also suffer, but there is less research into this.

ADHD’s exact cause is unclear but is thought to involve genetic mutations that affect a person’s brain function and structure.

Premature babies and those with epilepsy or brain damage are more at risk.

ADHD is also linked to anxiety, depression, insomnia, Tourette’s and epilepsy.

There is no cure.

A combination of medication and therapy is usually recommended to relieve symptoms and make day-to-day life easier.
