Lucien Laviscount is best known for his role as Alfie in hit show Emily In Paris, but has also had star turns in Waterloo Road, Coronation Street and Grange Hill.
And the actor, 33, appeared on Paramount+ show, Beckham And Friends Live on Thursday alongside David Beckham, 51, where he thanked him for pushing him into acting and setting him up with an agent as a child.
The pair met when Lucien was just 10 years old and they starred in a Marks and Spencer photoshoot together alongside a group of other children.
When asked about when they met, David groaned: ‘You’re going to make me feel old now. 2002 was it?
‘I remember all of the things that I’ve done over the years. And when I was doing that line and we had these bunch of kids. Lucien stood out a mile.
Emily In Paris star Lucien Laviscount thanked David Beckham for pushing him into acting and setting him up with an agent as a child in a new interview on Beckham And Friends Live
The pair met when Lucien was just 10 years old and they starred in a Marks and Spencer photoshoot together alongside a group of other children and David said: ‘I turned round to him and one point and I said, “have you ever thought about acting?”‘ and set him up with an agent
Lucien said: ‘It changed my life, my family’s life, it was like North star, to what I am doing now and I think everything fell back on that and thank you.’
‘And I know it’s easy to say that now… all of the kids on the day were brilliant but there was something about Lucien.’
He continued: ‘He had a cheeky character, but the nicest kid with the biggest smile and just something about him. I turned round to him and one point and I said, “have you ever thought about acting?”
‘And we had a little conversation and then after, I turned round to someone that was working with me and I said, “so this kid, we need to set him up with an acting agency,” and I’d forgotten all about it in all honesty.’
Lucien replied: ‘It changed my life, my family’s life, it was like North star, to what I am doing now and I think everything fell back on that and thank you.’
David added: ‘I’d forgotten all about it and then I saw Lucien in an interview and he told the story.’
Lucien added: It’s amazing. You don’t realise what the ripple effects of doing a good thing can have on people and I don’t take it lightly. Thanks brother.’
The pair hugged it out.
Lucien’s star has risen so much that at one point it was reported he was being considered to be the next James Bond.
Daniel Craig’s turn as 007 came to an end when he was killed off in blockbuster No Time To Die.
Following Lucien’s soap career, he went on to compete on the eighth series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2011.
In 2022, he joined the second season of Emily In Paris and plays Emily (Lily Collins’) love interest.
