We’ve confirmed that Jordan Peele‘s Monkeypaw productions has pinkslipped three development staffers.
The current set-up is reported to be around four staffers in development with the department still receiving material. It’s unclear at this point who was let go.
The current cuts come roughly a year after Monkeypaw also made cuts in their development department which then included three Production VPs as well as around five junior staffers.
Monkeypaw’s current deal is at Universal, which was inked in 2019. However, it’s only expected to run through mid-this year. The Oscar-winning Get Out filmmaker tried to mount a new movie at Universal post his 2022 summer feature Nope which grossed just over $171M WW, however, it experienced significant delays with no fourth directorial in the immediate pipeline.
The Hollywood Reporter first had the news about Monkeypaw’s layoffs.
