The man was rushed to the hospital after deputies found him in a chokehold, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez. That’s where he was pronounced dead.
KATY, Texas — A man is dead after investigators say he was put in a chokehold by his teenage son in the Katy area.
Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted about it a little before 6 a.m. Tuesday. In his post, Gonzalez said deputies responded to a home on Sagrantino Court, which is in a subdivision just north of I-10 and east of the Grand Parkway.
When they got there, they found the man being held in a chokehold by the teen, who Gonzalez said was possibly 15.
The man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At this point, we don’t know what led to the confrontation.
This is a developing story. We have a reporter heading to the scene now. We’ll post updates as we get them.
