Full House star Jodie Sweetin revealed her insane residual pay shortly after Friends alum Lisa Kudrow spilled that the cast still gets $20 million a year.

The 44-year-old actress – who recently made rare comments over ‘opposite’ political views with Candace Cameron Bure – got candid about the topic during an appearance on The McBride Rewind podcast last week.

The star notably portrayed the character of Stephanie Tanner on the beloved ABC sitcom from 1987-1995. She later reprised the role for the Netflix sequel Fuller House which aired from 2016-2020.

At one point, Sweetin shockingly admitted that the most recent residual paycheck that she received was exactly one penny.

‘I got a one-cent check the other day,’ she said, before explaining that, ‘there’s no syndication anymore because it’s all in streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that.’

Sweetin further expressed that her residual payments from starring on Full House are the opposite of what some people assume.

The actress told the podcast host that when she was younger, the residual checks had been different.

‘Sure, in my 20s, there would be money, but not reliable. You don’t know how much it’s going to be or how often they’re going to run the show.’

Sweetin continued, ‘So, sometimes you’re like, “Oh, cool. That was nice.” And then sometimes you’re like, “All right, well, there’s a nice dinner out.”‘

The star explained that ‘it’s not something you can rely on’ before sharing that she doesn’t live an ‘extravagant life.’

‘I’m like, “Honey, I drive my 2023 used Hyundai Sonata that I love. I rent my house. I have credit cards that are maxed out.” I live a normal life.’

Sweetin added, ‘And yeah, there are moments when you’re like, “This is going well.” And there are times when you’re like, “I need a day job.”‘

Along with the actress, other cast members of Full House included John Stamos, the late Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Candace Cameron Bure, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Lori Loughlin and Andrea Barber.

The sitcom aired for eight seasons before coming to an end in 1995 and followed a widower (Saget) raising his three daughters in the same home with his brother-in-law (Stamos) and close friend (Coulier).

A sequel was released on Netflix years later in 2016 called Fuller House and saw most of the original cast return, aside from both Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

During the podcast episode, Sweetin was questioned if she has ‘plans’ to possibly return to the world of Full House once again.

‘Oh, we always joke that it’ll be “Fuller Fullest House” and we’ll just be ancient and the kids will be wiping our a**es,’ she playfully said.

But the actress added that she ‘will never say never to anything.’

‘And you know, if I got to come back in another 20 years and work with these people again, who I’ve known for my entire life, yeah, I would totally do that.’

Sweetin then reflected on the impact the sitcom has on viewers.

‘I love what Full House has done, and I love what it has created. I love what it means to people,’ the star said.

‘And I think as I’ve gotten to be an adult and lived a little more life, I understand just how important it is to have that thing that connects you to your younger, safer self.’

Sweetin further expressed, ‘And I know that Full House does that so, I’m thrilled to continue to do that in whatever way I can.’

Also last week, Lisa Kudrow left fans stunned after revealing the eye-watering sums she and her Friends co-stars still pocket every year in residuals.

Kudrow, who played the eccentric Phoebe Buffay throughout the show’s ten-season run from 1994 to 2004, starred alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and the late Matthew Perry.

The cast famously negotiated their salaries together, skyrocketing from $22,500 per episode in the first season to a staggering $1million each by the final two seasons.

They later reunited for a one-off special on HBO Max in 2021, reportedly earning a cool $2.5million apiece for the nostalgic return.

But according to Kudrow, even those astonishing paydays pale in comparison to the steady stream of income the cast continues to receive from the show’s global syndication.

Speaking to The Times, the actress, who is currently starring in a new season of The Comeback, revealed the cast still rake in an astonishing $20million a year in residuals.

In the same interview, Kudrow reflected on why the series continues to generate such enormous residual income, suggesting its enduring success is more than justified.

‘After Matthew died I watched the show again. Before, I only saw what I did wrong or could have done better, but for the first time I truly appreciated just how great it was,’ Kudrow explained.

Perry tragically passed away on October 28, 2023 at the age of 54 from the acute effects of ketamine.

‘Because there was a genius at work. And whatever any of us do in the future, we will never experience something like that again.’

She added, ‘I felt I did OK, but Jennifer and Courteney? Amazing. David and Matt? They had me laughing so hard. And then Matthew – he was just beyond us all.’
