And she strongly hinted that it was his alleged drug problem that tore them apart.
Michael, a biographical film directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, stars Michael Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson in the title role.
The film covers the singer’s life from the Jackson 5 era to his status as the King of Pop. The film is a large-scale, family-sanctioned biopic.

In the book, which was completed by Lisa Marie’s daughter Riley Keough from recordings she made prior to her death in January 2023 at age 54, the daughter of Elvis Presley claims that Jackson admitted to her that he was ‘still a virgin’ when they began dating.
At the time, the singer–songwriter was 35, while Lisa was a decade younger.
The couple tied the knot in May of 1994, just months after they began dating.
In her book she revealed how Jackson declared his love for her while she was still married to her first husband, Danny Keough.

However, the union wasn’t long for the world, and they split shortly after Jackson made his feelings known when he and Presley took a trip to Las Vegas.
‘Michael said, “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’m completely in love with you. I want us to get married and for you to have my children,”‘ she wrote in her book.
‘I didn’t say anything immediately, but then I said, “I’m really flattered, I can’t even talk,”‘ she continued. ‘By then, I felt I was in love with him too.’
Presley and Keough split shortly after the exchange, and she began her relationship with the King of Pop, but he surprised her with a bombshell shortly after they got together by allegedly telling her he ‘was still a virgin.’
The daughter of Priscilla Presley added that Jackson had shared of his past romantic history, but he said none of his past relationships had been significant.
‘I think he had kissed Tatum O’Neal, and he’d had a thing with Brooke Shields, which hadn’t been physical apart from a kiss. He said Madonna had tried to hook up with him once, too, but nothing happened,’ she recounted.

‘I was terrified because I didn’t want to make the wrong move,’ Presley admitted in her memoir.
Just 20 days after she divorced Keough, Presley and Jackson were wed on May 26, 1994, after being friends since 1992.
The future lovebirds met nearly two decades earlier, in 1974, when Presley attended one of Jackson’s concerts.
Despite the love the two initially shared, their marriage was tumultuous, and Presley found herself swept up in Jackson’s child sexual abuse scandal.
She became a source of support for the pop superstar, though she eventually urged him to settle lawsuits filed against him by families of his alleged victims, according to J. Randy Taraborrelli’s biography Michael Jackson.

Jackson was also reportedly abusing drugs as the stresses of the scandal pervaded his life, which created more conflict with his then-wife.
Presley finally filed for divorce in January of 1996, citing irreconcilable differences.
Despite the split, Presley later admitted to having tried to reunite with her ex-husband several times over the next few years, before they went their separate ways for good.
The couple never had any children, but Presley had two children from her first marriage to Keough: the actress Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough, who died by suicide in 2020 at age 27.
Presley later tied the knot with her third husband, Nicolas Cage, in 2002, but he filed for divorce just over three months later, and the split was finalized in 2004.
Her final marriage was to Michael Lockwood from 2006 until their 2021 divorce. In 2008, Lisa gave birth to their fraternal twin daughters, Finely and Harper, 17.
After decades of subsequent controversies, Jackson died on June 25, 2009, after suffering cardiac arrest.
He was later determined to have been taking extreme doses of multiple sedatives and anti-anxiety drugs, including some that were primarily intended for use in surgical anesthesia.

In 2011, his personal doctor, Conrad Murray, was convicted of involuntary manslaughter, for which he served two years of a four-year sentence.
Presley died on January 12, 2023, after suffering cardiac arrest at home. She was revived and taken to a hospital, she died later that day.
Although multiple opioids were found in her system, they reportedly didn’t play a role in her death.
Instead, it was attributed to a ‘small bowel obstruction’ she suffered that had been caused by bariatric surgery she underwent years earlier.
