Rebel Wilson has been accused of masterminding a cyber attack on a young actress which led to her nude photo being leaked.

The Australian actress, 46, is being sued for defamation by Charlotte MacInnes, 27, the star of Wilson’s directorial debut, The Deb.

In a bombshell affidavit, filed in the Federal Court on Friday, MacInnes alleged that Wilson arranged for her social media account to be hacked and a nude photo shared to MacInnes’ entire contact list.

MacInnes alleges that her Snapchat account was breached, and there was an attempt to hack her Facebook account days after she filed legal proceedings against Wilson in September 2025.

‘I believe that this was orchestrated by Rebel,’ MacInnes wrote in her statement.

‘It was completely terrifying and caused me a new kind of anxiety.’

There has been no evidence tendered to support her claim, and Wilson, who was also present at court on Friday, has not yet been questioned about the hack.

MacInnes, who said that she once ‘looked up’ to Wilson, also alleged that she was left feeling powerless after Wilson shared posts with her 11 million Instagram followers accusing the actress of dishonestly retracting a sexual harassment complaint.

‘I felt as though she was ripping me apart and showing it off to the world,’ MacInnes wrote in her affidavit.

‘I was angry that Rebel claims to be someone who stands up for women… but then was so maliciously and unfairly persisting with a narrative that painted me as a liar, prostitute, sell-out, and whore.’

MacInnes also claimed she made the decision not to attend the premiere of The Deb – her first feature film – because she didn’t feel safe around Wilson.

‘I continue to feel unsafe in the industry I had once dreamed of, as Rebel is so well known and I do not yet feel I have enough of a voice to fight back,’ she alleged.

The case revolves around a bath that MacInnes shared with The Deb co-producer Amanda Ghost at Bondi Beach in September 2023, after Ghost allegedly suffered a medical episode following a sunset swim.

Wilson claims MacInnes had confided that she had felt uncomfortable after Ghost requested they shower and bathe together, but MacInnes has denied ever making a complaint.

Ghost told the Federal Court on Friday she was shocked when Wilson said MacInnes reported feeling uncomfortable and asked her to clarify whether a complaint was being made.

‘Charlotte says all good,’ Wilson informed her after speaking to MacInnes.

‘She just meant “it was a bizarre situation”, not that she personally felt uncomfortable.’

When Ghost expressed her relief, the first-time director explained MacInnes instantly said there were “zero issues”.

But the producer agreed she had doubts about MacInnes’ honesty after discussing the complaint further with Wilson.

‘I was annoyed after Rebel presented a case about her to me,’ she said.

Ghost said she was so concerned she decided to avoid MacInnes, instigate a third-party investigation into the complaint, and evict the young actor from the apartment.

However, she came to believe MacInnes was telling the truth after meeting with her in person, she told the court.

MacInnes also claimed that an Instagram post, shared by Wilson's wife Ramona Agruma on Friday morning, 'mocked' evidence she gave in court on Thursday

Agruma shared an image of the Finding Nemo character Dory on her Instagram Story, with a caption that read: ‘I suffer from short-term memory loss… or do I? I can’t remember.’

‘I felt as though she was mocking the evidence I gave,’ MacInnes told the court.

Meanwhile, Wilson will take the stand when court resumes on Tuesday.
