The 17-year-old girl was allegedly targeted in the Rowleys Green area on Sunday, March 15.

Cops later cordoned off part of Longford Canal as part of an investigation into the reported attack.

West Midlands Police have since confirmed two teens have been charged in connection with the attack.

A 17-year-old has been charged with rape and an 18-year-old has been charged with sexual assault.

They are both set to appear in court next month.

The force said: “We have charged two teenagers after a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted and raped in the Rowleys Green area of Coventry on March 15.

“An 18-year-old boy has been charged with sexual assault and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with rape.

“Both are next due to appear at Warwick Crown Court on April 15.”

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Thames Valley Police launched a manhunt after a woman was sexually assaulted in a car park near a hospital.

The woman, who is in her 20s, was targeted before being attacked in the John Radcliffe Hospital car park in Oxford, said police.

The alleged attack occurred at the site on the access road between Saxon Way and the hospital on Headley Way, at about 10pm on January 30.

Thames Valley Police has now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to about the sexual assault incident.

Cops said they believe the man pictured may have “vital information” which could help with the investigation.

Anyone who knows the man has been asked to come forward immediately.
