THIS is the shocking moment a man was left with a screwdriver sticking out of his head after a horror attack.
Terrifying footage shows the victim lying on the pavement with the tool protruding from his left temple.
Panicked bystanders – including the victim’s heavily pregnant girlfriend – rush over to over some assistance.
His girlfriend removes then her jacket to place over his bare torso.
Police officers can be seen standing over him, waiting for an ambulance to arrive after carefully bandaging his head.
According to reports, the 25-year-old man was involved in a supposed revenge attack.
One witness told local outlet Albatera, in Spain‘s Alicante province: “A man came looking for him, apparently to settle a score.
“I think he asked him for money when they ran into each other on the street.
“The young man then went up to his girlfriend’s flat and came back down with a screwdriver, which was stabbed into the other man’s mouth.
“But the other guy pulled it out and fought back, stabbing him in the head.”
Police officers attending the scene managed to keep the victim conscious before he was taken to a hospital in Elche.
Surgeons then managed to expertly remove the screwdriver.
The bloodied tool has become lodged beneath his temple, passing diagonally through his skull from nose to teeth.
An anonymous witness added: “The young man who was stabbed is about to become a father with a woman who lives in social housing and already has three children.
“Apparently, she doesn’t work, and he is involved in small-time hustling.”
As reported by Creatorzine, an investigation is now ongoing.
For now, the police have said the two men involved were Moroccan and Algerian respectively.
The second man was arrested after officers found him in a nearby health centre.
The 37-year-old had decided to go and get checked out because he was reportedly bleeding profusely from his cheek.
A source close to the investigations said he suffered “an open wound on his cheeky, with muscle tissue severed”.
Both men have now been arrested on suspicion of assault and attempted homicide.
Police are now working to establish what the exact relationship between the two was and the reason why they were fighting.
