LAS VEGAS — The “When We Were Young Festival” announced Friday it was postponing the 2026 dates to 2027 to “make sure what comes next feels just as special as what came before.”
The popular emo and pop-punk music festival based in Las Vegas would be celebrating its 10th anniversary next year.
“The memories, the moments — none of it exists without you. After an unforgettable run in Las Vegas, we’ve decided to take 2026 off to give the festival the care it deserves and to make sure what comes next feels just as special as what came before,” the festival posted to social media Friday.
Previous headliners include Panic! At The Disco, My Chemical Romance, Blink 182, Paramore, Fall Out Boy and Green Day, among others.
“Thank you for showing up with your whole hearts every year. This isn’t goodbye — it’s just a pause,” the festival website said.
Previous festival-goers took to social media to give their thoughts about the change.
“This was the right move. No headliners made sense for this year unless it was going to be previous headliners,” one commentor wrote on Facebook. “As someone who’s attended the last 3 WWWY festivals – a year will get the buzz back.”
Others requested prices come down when the festival gets back underway, and some commentors said they would be attending similar rock festivals instead.
The weekend long festival, which typically takes place in October every year, debuted in 2017 in Santa Ana, California, and moved to Las Vegas in 2022.
It’s set to return in Las Vegas in October 2027, but no other details have been released.
