A BRITISH personal trainer with a criminal history in the UK has been arrested in Dubai.
Antonia Betteridge, from St Helens, moved to the United Arab Emirates after being convicted for possession of criminal property in 2023.
It is unclear why she has been arrested in Dubai, but officials with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) confirmed her detention to the Liverpool Echo.
The Merseyside woman, who is now in her mid-twenties, was found with £8,000 in her glove box on December 22, 2021.
Cops pulled the then 21-year-old Betteridge over on the M62 near Warrington, where she lied that she had no money on her.
When officers searched her handbag they discovered £610, followed by the small fortune in her car.
