Police are scrambling to rescue the taken pensioner after his captors released chilling footage of him bloodied and tied up.

He was alone in his North Ryde home, Sydney, when he was taken and thrown into a dark‑coloured SUV on Friday morning.

Local cops suspect the kidnappers abducted the wrong man during the alleged attack.

They believe the suspects were supposed to take another man who had links to the criminal underworld – but accidentally took Chris instead.

Police are extremely worried about the pensioner’s wellbeing.

Chris needs daily medication, local cops said.

Detective Acting Superintendent Andrew Marks said: “They took Mr Baghsarian whilst he was at home, in his bedroom of his family home, and they took him and bundled him into a car and took him away to a location that we do not know.

“Police consider that Mr Baghsarian was not the intended target … You have the wrong person.”

Horror footage showed Chris tied at the hands while gagged and lying on the floor.

There appears to be blood on the carpet under the kidnapped elderly man.

The unnerving footage was sent to a Sydney underworld figure after kidnappers incorrectly assumed Chris was the original target.

Another haunting video clip showed the suspects getting out of a dark car outside the home before nabbing the grandad.

Det Supt Marks added: “If there’s a member of the kidnapping crew that has any common decency, to tell us where he is, you tell us where he is, we’ll do the rest.

Three people are believed to be involved in the kidnapping.

Cops confirmed that a burned vehicle had been found nearby, with the car matching the description of the suspect’s SUV.

The kidnapping has even unsettled criminal underworld figures, who claim that a line has been crossed, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Police Minister Yasmin Catley said the perpetrators would be caught and prosecuted.

She said: “Police have a proven track record of locking up those responsible for these reprehensible crimes and the bad actors who manipulate them to do their dirty work.

“We do not want to see this violence on our streets.”
