EXCLUSIVE: Singapore-based Mokster Films has picked up international rights to Indonesian horror film Dominion Of Darkness 2 and will launch sales on the title at the upcoming European Film Market (EFM) in Berlin.

The film is a sequel to 2024 breakout faith-driven exorcism title, Dominion Of Darkness, which was sold to 53 territories and surpassed 1.47 million admissions in Indonesia within 20 days of release, ranking among the country’s top-performing horror releases of the year.

Produced by Paragon Pictures and Ideosource Entertainment, the first film in the franchise was unusual in that it revolved around Christian exorcism in the Muslim-majority country, where many horror films tap into Islamic traditions and lore.

The sequel, directed by Rizal Mantovani, best known for The Chanting trilogy, expands the franchise’s mythology with “higher stakes, deeper theological lore, and elevated supernatural terror aimed at international audiences”. Robert Ronny returns as writer and producer.

Dominion Of Darkness 2 also sees Lukman Sardi and Jerome Kurnia reprising their roles as Catholic exorcists Father Rendra and Father Thomas. Set in a remote town in East Java, the story follows the priests as they investigate a brutal possession tied to a generations-old blood pact that awakens a ‘Rephaim’, an ancient demon rooted in Old Testament scripture.

As the Church withdraws its sanction, the exorcists must confront the demonic force alone, pushing their faith to its limits as the entity threatens global annihilation.

Dominion Of Darkness 2 is produced by Paragon Pictures and Ideosource Entertainment, with a theatrical release scheduled for October 2026.

Ideosource, headed by Andi Boediman, is a major investor in Indonesia’s growing film industry and acquired a majority stake in Robert Ronny’s Paragon Pictures in 2019. Paragon also has credits including Losmen Bu Broto, Backstage and Kalian Pantas Mati.

Mokster Films, headed by former WME Independent exec Nelson Mok, is also handling international sales on Taiwanese supernatural horror The Damp, directed by Fu Tien-yu (Day Off), at EFM. The Singapore-based outfit is also selling two titles that Mok is on board as a producer – Taiwanese director Lester Hsi’s horror film Phantom and Vietnamese filmmaker Ham Tran’s supernatural horror Red Thread.
