EXCLUSIVE: Andrea Londo (Narcos) leads the cast of Wildcard, a recently completed indie drama also starring David Arquette (Scream), James Le Gros (Drugstore Cowboy), and Jeremy Gimenez (So Help Me Todd).

The film, marking Greg Bekkers’ directorial debut, “centers on Isabel Collins (Londo), a former tennis prodigy newly out of rehab and struggling to reclaim her identity in a world that once rewarded her self-destruction. Returning to her childhood home near the U.S.-Mexico border, Isabel attempts to rebuild her identity amid fractured family relationships, unresolved trauma, and the lingering pull of addiction”.

Sales firm Mavryk will launch world sales at the upcoming European Film Market.

Bekkers and Londo are producing the film under their Two Lands Films banner, in collaboration with Hugo Martin Del Campo and Citlali Vasquez of Mexican production company Casa Ajena. Steven Siebert cast the film, which is scripted by Jamie Lincoln.

In the feature, Arquette “portrays a charming yet destabilizing figure in Isabel’s life. Le Gros plays Isabel’s estranged father, whose failures continue to shape the family’s emotional landscape. Gimenez plays Gabe, Isabel’s estranged half-brother and former coach, whose uneasy mixture of loyalty, resentment, and moral rigidity forms the film’s central relational axis”.

The ensemble also includes C.S. Lee (For All Mankind), Zak Steiner (Euphoria), Kym Jackson (We Bury the Dead), Vic Wolf, and Ava Hewitt. Juliana Ferreira portrays Young Isabel alongside Adam Perez Courtney as Young Gabe.

“Tennis was my life for over 20 years, and I wanted to tell a story that reveals its grittier side. It was important to me that our actors truly played tennis. Both Andrea Londo and Jeremy Gimenez have played at a high level, adding an exciting authenticity to the film,” Bekkers said. “Wildcard is built entirely around Isabel’s interior life, and Andrea understood that from day one. Her discipline, both as an actor and as an athlete, is what anchors the film. We were fortunate as well to be surrounded by a stellar supporting cast,” he added.
