Grammys Audience Down For Second Consecutive Year On CBS

The 68th Grammy Awards delivered a few historic moments, including an emotional Album of the Year win for Bad Bunny, but unfortunately for CBS, the show’s viewership declined for the second consecutive year.

Per Nielsen Big Data + Panel, 14.4M people tuned in for Sunday night’s 2026 ceremony, down about 6.5% from last year’s telecast. It marks the second year of decline after the 2024 show’s years-long high note of 16.9M viewers. To be fair, it’s still the most-watched awards ceremony since last year’s Oscars.

Just like last year, CBS points out that this year’s ceremony was the most social program in all of TV over the past six months, including sports, which is actually pretty impressive. Per the network’s stats, the Grammys generated 74.8M total interactions and 302.5M total video views.

Hosted by Trevor Noah for the final time, the 68th Grammy Awards were hosted at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

As mentioned, Bad Bunny won Album of the Year for Debí Tirar Más Fotos on Sunday, just one week before his highly anticipated Super Bowl LX halftime show. He made Grammy history with the first Spanish-language disc to win Album of the Year. In fact, Grammys history was made in several of the major categories, including Kendrick Lamar as Record of the Year winner for his Luther Vandross tribute “Luther” and Billie Eilish and her brother Finneas O’Connell for their Song of the Year triumph for “Wildflower.”
