The White House is pledging support for Nancy Guthrie, the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, who has been missing since Saturday and police believe was forcibly taken from her Arizona home.

“The search for Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie, is ongoing, and authorities are requesting assistance from the public. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911,” the White House wrote in a social media post, attaching a picture of the 84-year-old missing woman.

“Our prayers are with the Guthrie family as we hope for Nancy’s safe return home,” it added.

Reward offered for missing mother of ‘Today’ host Savannah Guthrie

A White House official confirmed to The Hill that the West Wing has been in contact with Savannah Guthrie, as the search for her mother continues. It is unclear if President Trump has spoken with the NBC host.

Nancy Guthrie was reported missing around noon on Sunday after a friend called her family and said she did not show up for church that morning.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos said during a news conference Monday that the missing woman suffers from some physical ailments, adding that she “has some physical challenges, is in need of medication; medication that if she doesn‘t have in 24 hours, it could be fatal.”

Police said they believe Guthrie could have been abducted from her home, though they have not publicly indicated a possible motive as they investigate her disappearance as a crime.

What we know about the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie’s mother

The younger Guthrie, who is in Arizona as the search continues, in a social media post on Monday thanked community members for their support and prayers. She is one of NBC’s most prominent journalists, and has been an anchor for “Today” for more than a decade and has not appeared on air since her mother’s disappearance

A news conference on the investigation was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
