A “CREEPY” influencer has sparked outrage after freeze-drying her dead dog and placing it in a glass display case.

Chloe Chung, 31, revealed to her 140,000 followers how she had dealt with her beloved dog’s death after claiming she was constantly asked about it in her DMs.

In a bizarre social media post, Chung can be seen showing off her freeze-dried dog to her viewers.

She then carefully removes the pet from the glass display case and holds the stiff, frozen canine in her arms as she smiles widely.

The dog has been propped upright, with its eyes open, giving it the unsettling appearance of still being alive.

Her honesty immediately backfired as viewers flooded her post with criticism.

Her Instagram update has now amassed over 94,000 likes and nearly 5,000 comments, with many users describing her decision as “traumatising” and “creepy”.

Others demanded to know why she would treat her pet in such a way.

“There’s one million haters but there’s also one million people that either didn’t know about this or want more information,” Chung told What’s The Jam.

She added:  “This was an extremely hard decision for me because she was my soul dog.

“It was nothing that I went into lightly and I’m glad it really worked out well. This was not taxidermy. She was freeze dried.”

Viewers expressed shock and disgust in the comments section, with one asking, “Wow am I the only one who thinks this is creepy?”

Another insisted: “I don’t think I could do this to my dogs. They deserve dignity once they have passed. They aren’t an accessory to prance around with.”

“This is traumatizing,” added a third, while Louis wrote, “I couldn’t do that, coming home every time and seeing that lifeless body.

“It would break me too much, constantly reopening the wound. It’s better to keep my dog alive in my memory through videos and photos, but not the kind of thing I could do with a display case.”

Some fans, however, offered support for Chung’s decision, with one saying, “If it makes you feel better that’s great”.

They added: “No judgment. When my furbaby of 20 years passed she instantly felt so many pounds lighter and her soul which is the essence was no longer with the body.

“I did however save a piece of her fur and cremated a lock of my hair with her.”

In a similar case, a cat owner revealed they spent £2,500 to freeze-dry their dead cat, Loki, keeping the preserved remains on their nightstand.

After Loki’s sudden death, owner Soren searched for a way to make their beloved companion immortal.

They chose freeze-drying to preserve the cat, but the process comes with strict conditions.

Soren must ensure Loki’s body never exceeds 100F and remains in humidity below 80 per cent, or it could start to mould.

Soren paid over £2,500 to ensure Loki would never truly leave them. They kept the cat in the freezer for more than a month before sending her off for the procedure.

Soren said: “I witnessed my cat being killed by a dog I was fostering in front of my house late at night.

“I was walking the dog, the dog saw a bunny, the dog got away from my leash, the bunny crossed my cat, my cat bolted, dog went after the cat, dog attacked my cat.

“This has been one of the hardest losses of my life and I’ve never experienced anything like this before and since her death was such a sudden loss – even though she was 16 years old – I was not prepared for this.”
