The programme was made after co-operation from Cheshire Police and a trailer features footage of Letby, 36, being arrested in her pyjamas at their home in Herford in June 2019.

Letby – who has always maintained her innocence over child murders – is seen sitting up in bed in a confused state then being led away in her dressing gown.

Speaking publicly for the first time since ex-neonatal nurse Letby was jailed for life in August 2023, her parents said they would not watch the show.

Talking to The Sunday Times, they added: “It would likely kill us if we did.

“We’ve always imagined that if something life-changing is going to happen to you the next day, you would somehow have a premonition something was about to happen.

“We can honestly say that on the eve of the arrest we had absolutely no idea they were coming.”

They also claimed the chief investigating officer in Letby’s case “seemed to have a deep hatred” of them.

The CPS said last month Letby – held at HMP Bronzefield, Surrey – would face no further criminal charges over deaths and collapses at hospitals where she worked.

She was found guilty of of murdering seven and attempting to kill seven more – one twice – at the Countess of Chester Hospital and has lost two bids to appeal her convictions.

But a panel of experts have cast doubt on her guilt and the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which can order retrials, is considering their evidence.
