The teen, who was riding the e-scooter, was rushed to Southmead Hospital after paramedics arrived at the scene on St Paul’s Road.

Tragically, despite the best efforts of medics, he died in hospital yesterday evening.

The driver of the car involved – believed to be a white Kia – fled the scene, cops said.

A man in his 20s, from Cheltenham, has since been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Four other people have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Following police enquiries a white Kia was seized for further investigative work to take place.

All of those who were arrested have since been released under investigation as enquiries continue.

Cops are keen to hear from anyone who may have information that could assist their ongoing investigation into the tragedy.

Gloucestershire Constabulary said: “Investigating officers are still keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dashcam footage.
