A CONGRESS centre in Davos has been evacuated after a fire broke out.
The scare comes as world leaders and top businessmen descend on the Swiss city for the World Economic Forum this week.
Fire services with specialised teams for smoke operations are now on the scene.
It is thought the fire has since been contained.
The fire brigade said: “The alarm has been fully contained and the fire has been completely extinguished after evacuating part of the convention centre as a precaution.”
Italian journalist Lilli Gruber told local media: “We are outside the Congress Centre, we have all be evacuated.”

Emergency crews are now trying to determine the cause of a peculiar smell that is making people cough.
According to reports, the fire broke out in a wooden hut near the hotel housing the conference centre, triggering an evacuation.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported.
