THIS is the terrifying moment a gun-wielding thug shoots a man during a machete brawl in the middle of the street.

The alarming footage is akin to scenes from the wild west, but the horror actually unfolded in Birmingham last year.

Shocking videos show one man fire multiple rounds as members of the public scatter in horror.

In another clip, a gang member can be seen approaching a parked white car.

He tries to smash the driver’s side window with what appears to be a baseball bat.

Seconds later a masked thug jumps out of the back seat and aims a gun, while another emerges with a machete.

The disturbing brawl erupted at around 3.30pm on March 27, on Church Lane in Stechford.

West Midlands Police later discovered two men had self-presented at a hospital.

Medics treated one for a gunshot wound and the other had been slashed.

The force’s Major Crime Team launched an urgent investigation and tracked down three cars present at the scene of the crime.

Officers detained and charged five men with a litany of offences, from attempted murder to violent disorder.

The gang, all from Birmingham, appeared for trial at Birmingham Crown Court on January 16.

A judge sentenced them to a combined total of more than 50 years.

Essa Alam, 21, was found guilty of several crimes including two counts of attempted murder.

He was thrown behind bars for 27 years.

Casiim Montgomery, 23, was convicted of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and was jailed for 22 years.

Hamaad Raaja, 18, Mohammed Aadam, 21, and Mohammed Zaheer, 27, were all found guilty of violent disorder and possessing weapons.

They were slapped with sentences between one year and nine months and two-and-a-half years.

Detective Inspector Stacey Follows said: “These five carried out a senseless, violent attack in broad daylight, which put members of the public at serious risk.

“Thankfully, no members of the public were injured.

“The offenders demonstrated a high degree of malice and an intention to cause the most serious of harm.”

This comes as similar concerning scenes have been caught on camera unfolding in broad daylight.

One chainsaw-wielding maniac was seen chasing after a cop in a terrifying murder bid.

Albanian national Liridon Kastrati hunted down PC Gary Cowan through the middle of a street in Paisley, Renfrewshire.

Terrifying footage shows the officer fleeing for his life as crazed Kastrati, 32, runs after him, shouting and pointing the running chainsaw in his direction.

PC Cowan told a court how he feared the thug would “saw his arms and chop his head off”.

Kastrati was convicted by a jury of attempting to murder the cop after trial at the High Court in Paisley.
