Around 6 p.m. on Saturday night, a dispersal order was issued for Alameda Street from Aliso Street to Temple, which included Commercial Street.
A police skirmish line was set up outside the Metropolitan Detention Center, where officers were seen dispersing the crowd and several people were detained as the night went on. “You must leave the area,” LAPD said.
Demonstrations already began to pop up on Friday night, as seen in Santa Ana, where at least two people were forcibly dragged from a crowd by Department of Homeland Security officers.
Across the country, a social movement organization that formed to resist the Trump administration said hundreds of protests were scheduled in Texas, Kansas, New Mexico, Ohio, Florida and more. Many were dubbed “ICE Out for Good” using the acronym for the federal agency Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
