A MUM charged with murdering her “beautiful” four-year-old daughter in fire at their family home has been pictured.
Carrin Wibier, 45, of Rusholme, Manchester, was also charged with arson with intent to endanger life after Lesma-Rose Wibier, four, tragically died following the blaze at the family home in Manchester in March last year.
The alleged culprit appeared via video link at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday where she confirmed her name, address and date of birth.
Ms Wibier was not asked to enter any pleas to the two charges.
The case was adjourned for a further hearing in March, and a trial was provisionally scheduled for June.
The childminder studied and graduated at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she completed an undergraduate course in in Primary Education, Early Childhood Education and Teaching.
Wibier also served as a parent governor representative on Manchester City Council’s Young People and Children Committee for a year from 2015 to 2016.
The horror unfolded on March 2, 2025, when fire crews were scrambled to the property in Rusholme.
Emergency services successfully extinguished the fire and managed to retrieve Lesma-Rose.
However, after being pulled from the blaze, the child sadly died from her injuries in hospital.
Signs of smoke damage could be seen on upstairs windows of the red-brick house after the fire.
Paying tribute after her death, the girl’s family said: “Lesma-Rose was the star of the family.
“Anyone who knew her knew she was the most beautiful girl inside and out.
“She always had a smile on her face and could put the same on others.
“She was such a smart and intelligent girl in her own unique ways, and she will be deeply missed by anyone who was blessed to meet her.”
Ben Levy, area manager for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, said previously that crews from four stations attended the blaze.
“I want to pass on the condolences of everyone at Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to the family and friends of the young girl who tragically lost her life following this incident,” he said.
