The married pair had retired to the countryside just months ago – and were described as “loving” by their family.

The Audi driver was also killed. Police are investigating but it is believed one of the vehicles was overtaking a tractor on the narrow road.

Another man in the Toyota – believed to be their son – was seriously injured and airlifted to hospital.

Police said two cars collided on the stretch of road where there was also a tractor with front attachment.

The family said: “David and Pamela were loving members of our family. They were both very special to us all.”

The couple retired to the countryside around the Welsh-English border near Churchstoke earlier this year from Merseyside.

Their family said: “David and Pamela had moved to the area earlier this year to enjoy their retirement.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support at this horrific time. It has meant so much to the whole family. We would now like time to grieve and would ask to be given privacy to do so.”

The three were killed in the road traffic collision on the A489 on the 11th of December 2025.

A police spokesperson said: “At approx. 4.50pm on Thursday, December 11, 2025 Dyfed-Powys Police received reports of a serious RTC on the A489 between Churchstoke and Lydham. The location is known locally as Snead.

“Vehicles that collided were a grey Audi A4 and a red Toyota Yaris. At the time of the collision a blue tractor with a front attachment was also travelling on the same stretch of road.

“Sadly, two people in the Toyota Yaris, and the driver of the Audi A4 sustained fatal injuries.

“Another passenger in the Yaris sustained serious injuries and was conveyed to hospital by Air Ambulance. Next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“An investigation is underway, and officers are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles at around that time, or if they have dash cam whilst travelling on that particular road at the relevant time, to get in touch with them.

“If you have any information that could help enquiries, please get in touch.”
