A man is dead following a Montgomery County crash on Sunday, Maryland State Police said.
Shortly after midnight, Rockville Barrack troopers responded to westbound Interstate 495, before Silver Spring’s Georgia Avenue, for a report of a single-vehicle crash, according to a Monday news release. A Ford Econoline traveled off the roadway and struck trees, but investigators don’t know why.
Thirty-two-year-old Manual Lopez-Castillo, of Fairmount Heights, was taken by ambulance to a Virginia hospital and pronounced dead.
Lanes were closed for about six hours. The state police department’s crash team is leading the investigation.
