Colman Domingo didn’t hesitate when asked who he believed was the most fashion-forward individual — he had a single, confident answer.
“Who in your opinion is the best-dressed person of the year?” an interviewer for British GQ asked Domingo in an Instagram clip posted on Tuesday.
“Colman Domingo,” the actor replied, prompting resounding laughter. “I wish I was lying.”
The reporter had no rebuttal, and Domingo quickly explained why he chose himself.
“I’m just saying it because I want my brothers to step up,” he continued. “It doesn’t have to be me every year, but maybe you can try harder.”

Their back-and-forth kept the laughter flowing. “It’s often you. Last time I saw you, it was you,” the interviewer added.
“I can’t believe I just said myself, but it’s kind of true though,” the “Rustin” actor admitted, as the moment wrapped, laughter still hanging in the atmosphere.
Domingo’s confidence isn’t without receipts. In April, Vogue declared he’s “setting the bar for men’s fashion.” The outlet spoke with his stylists, Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, who broke down the creative engine behind his standout looks.
