The Te Ao with Moana journalist shouted “holy s***” as she held her hands up to her face, reeling from the shock of the incident.

The cameraman quickly said “oh s***, you’re bleeding” after spotting the cut above her eye.

Tyson later took to Instagram to share a clip of the unexpected encounter and show the nasty gash above her eyebrow.

She wrote: “POV Just trying to do your job when nature has other plans.”

The former Miss World NZ added in the caption: “The commitment to the job is real! Bird needed @specsaversnewzealand really! @teaowithmoana.”

The viral vid quickly amassed over 200k views and 6k likes within several hours, as friends and fans chimed in.

“Oh heeeeelll noooo,”‘ wrote singer and Australian Idol winner Stan Walker, who is also Tyson’s brother-in-law.

Alex Keepence, who founded the license holder of Miss World Australia, asked: “are we allowed to laugh or is it too soon?”

To which Tyson replied: “YES, I was laughing about 10mins after it happened hahaha!”

She further reassured fans that she was ok, replying in another comment: “Everything is fine, just got a little scar above my eye!”

Last year, an Australian journalist was harassed by a bird as she tried to deliver a serious report.

Ursula Heger was broadcasting coverage of an Australian sports star accused of intimidating a police officer.

In the footage, she can be seen recounting the facts of the case when a bird begins its hilarious attack.

The flying intruder repeatedly smacks Ursula’s head, using her scalp as a launch pad for continued strikes.

Ursula can be seen desperately trying to keep her composure, but the bird refuses to give up.

In a desperate bid to avoid the pest, she crouches down to get out of its flight path but the bird lunges at her anyways.

In the video, the feathered attacker hooks its feet into Ursula’s hair, messing it up and slaps her head with flapping wings.

She keeps a straight face on throughout the video, but gives in at the end, bursting into laughter.

The cameraman can be heard struggling to contain himself as he says: “This is the funniest thing.”

Ursula tries to fix her hair as she says: “This is the most ridiculous moments of my life.

“I just stood there and took it.”

The crew member adds: “That’s bloody funny.”
