A CAMPBELL’S chief has been fired after a bombshell lawsuit accused him of going on an offensive rant where he mocked “poor people” for eating their products.
Leaked audio allegedly captured former vice president of information technology Martin Bally screaming about the “highly processed food” in the unhinged tirade.
Bally was previously put on administrative leave, but has since been fired, the company announced Wednesday, according to NBC News.
His fate hung in the balance after former employee Robert Garza filed a lawsuit accusing the company of retaliation and a hostile work environment.
As part of the suit, Garza included audio from a meeting he allegedly had with Bally in November 2024 to discuss salary.
In the recording, which is over 90 minutes long, Bally called Campbell’s beloved soups “highly process(ed) foods” and said they were for “poor people,” the suit states.
At one point, the executive allegedly made racist remarks about Indian workers and called them “idiots.”
In a statement, the company said, “After a review, we believe the voice on the recording is in fact Martin Bally.
“The comments were vulgar, offensive and false, and we apologize for the hurt they have caused.”
