POLICE have released a Evo-Fit likeness of a man they are seeking in relation to a sexual assault last week.

The victim, a woman in her 30s, was on a morning jog along a path just before 6am on Wednesday morning when a stranger pulled her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The serious sexual assault occurred between 5.45am and 6am on Wednesday 19 November along a path off Iliffe Way in Stowmarket, Suffolk.

The man is approximately 5ft 10ins and of medium build and was wearing a dark beanie.

A spokesperson for Suffolk Police said: “A woman aged in her 30s reported that she was out running when she was approached by an unknown man who pulled her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

“The victim continues to be supported by specialist trained officers and she has been assisting detectives with their enquiries. This includes helping to produce an EvoFIT likeness of the suspect which is now being issued to the public.

“The suspect is described as white, approximately 5ft 10ins in height, of medium build and was wearing a dark woolly beanie hat. He also wore a thick, dark rain jacket and dark trousers, and is reported to have smelled strongly of cigarettes and cannabis.

“Between 4.30am and 6.30am this morning, Wednesday 26 November, officers conducted checks one week on from the attack in the vicinity of Iliffe Way, where they spoke to 40 members of the public.”

Detective Inspector Stuart Dolan-Allen said: “We are continuing to appeal for assistance from members of the public with this investigation and would ask that people look closely at the EvoFIT and contact us if they believe they know who it resembles.

“We have officers pursuing a number of other lines of enquiry in respect of this incident and the local community can continue to expect to see an increased police presence in the area.”

Police arrested a 38-year-old man in connection with the inquiry but he was released without charge on Tuesday and will face no further police action.

Suffolk Police are seeking anyone who recognises the man pictured or any potential witnesses.
