Man, 26, killed in horror smash as passenger, 22, fights for life after car crashes into tree

A man has died in a horror crash in Urmston

A MAN has died following a horror smash while another male suffered significant injuries.

The fatal collision happened at around 1.15am in Urmston, Trafford.

Greater Manchester Police have now appealed for information.

A driver of a black Volkswagen Golf had been travelling along Church Road towards the town and lost control, colliding with a tree off the carriageway.

The driver, a male aged 26, suffered significant injuries and has died from the collision.

A passenger, a male aged 22, sustained serious injuries and remains in critical condition in hospital.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are continuing their investigation and are asking for anyone with information to come forward.

This includes anyone who saw the vehicle driving before the collision, witnessed the incident itself, or have dashcam footage of the incident.
