The gaffe saw him narrowly avoid falling face first onto the floor

Sir Starmer is due to meet Ukraine‘s allies to discuss ways to “strengthen” Donald Trump‘s 28-point peace plan.

But, the Prime Minister got off to a humiliating start, tripping over himself before talks could even begin.

Before regaining composure the Prime Minister stumbled over his own feet as he approached a group of business leaders at the summit.

Video captured by waiting press cameras shows Sir Keir all smiles as he approaches the waiting group.

Just as he draws near the waiting businessmen and reaches out for a handshake he stumbles.

It appears the PM managed to trip himself up – with nothing on the floor presenting and obstacle for him.

Almost going face first into the ground Keir Starmer manages to get a leg out and catch himself.

Throwing his hands up for balance the PM only just manages to avoid slamming face first into the floor.

Sir Keir catches himself at the last moment as stunned onlookers exclaim in concern for the falling PM.

The blunder left the Prime Minister humiliated within just a few hours of arriving at the summit.

It marks the second time he has lost his footing this month after a similar mishap in Brazil.

Sir Keir was climbing down from his plane after arriving in the South American nation for COP 30.

As he disembarked from the aircraft he managed to stumble on the metal stairs and almost fell from the walkway.

Stumbling on the steps of the plane the Prime Minister almost tumbled down and onto the tarmac.

Again, the Prime Minister with lightning reflexes managed to catch himself at the last moment.

It was the first of two humiliating falls that could have ended badly for the PM.

He and the Prince of Wales proceeded to disembark the aircraft together after the gaffe.

Similar slip ups often inspire ridicule from political leaders.

Former President Lyndon B. Johnson reportedly remarked that his election rival Gerald Ford “is so dumb that he can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.”

Ahead of today’s peace talks, Sir Keir said: “Ukraine’s friends and partners will meet in the margins of the G20 summit to discuss how we can secure a full ceasefire and create the space for meaningful peace negotiations.

“We will discuss the current proposal on the table, and in support of President Trump’s push for peace, look at how we can strengthen this plan for the next phase of negotiations.”

European leaders including France’s Emmanuel Macron, Germany’s Friedrich Merz and Italy’s Giorgia Meloni are considering visiting Mr Trump to discuss his plan.

It is understood Sir Keir will not visit Washington next week alongside his fellow European leaders.
