THIS is the incredible moment a Ukrainian helicopter blasts a Russian drone mid-air.

Footage shows a US-made minigun, attached to a Soviet-era aircraft, fast-firing at the device – causing it to blow up and fall to the ground.

The M134 minigun can fire up to 6,000 rounds per minute without overheating.

Video captured by a Ukrainian soldier shows the Russian Geran drone gliding through the air before being blitzed by the weapon.

The device then plunges into a field where it explodes into a big ball of flames.

The impressive blitz is another example of Ukraine’s improved versatility at targeting Russian aircraft.

SHADOW OF WAR

Europe is preparing for war warns Kremlin & any hope of peace has ‘stalled’

Rather than intercepting enemy flights with expensive missiles, Kyiv has taken to shooting at them from helicopters.

With Russian drones flying high to avoid gunners on the ground, this new tactic means enemy devices can be intercepted before they narrow in on their target.

It comes as Vladimir Putin was dealt a humiliating blow as a clever team of resistance spies helped to orchestrate a pinpoint strike on one of his most valuable pieces of war technology.

The attack was carried out by Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOF).

SOF units managed to disable the mobile S-400 Triumph surface-to-air missile launcher in Uyutne village near Yevpatoria as it was on combat duty.

The S-400, which is worth over $1.26 billion (£960m), is used by the Russian military to detect and destroy air targets at long distances.

Putin has also used it to strike Ukrainian territory during his brutal war.

Dramatic first person drone footage shows a barrage of Kyiv’s kamikaze drones from Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate GUR hurtling towards the moving air defence system.

The launcher was left smoking after the drones exploded upon impact – sparking a huge inferno.

Drone operators used the on board Starlink-supported systems along with the SOF’s FP-2 drones to completely destroy the valuable system.

Russian 92N6E multi-functional radar and autonomous power supply equipment for the S-400 command post were also destroyed, according to reports.

The Ukrainian intelligence specialists also successfully hit the AORL-1AS and P-18 Terek radar systems of the Russian army.

A large ammunition depot belonging to Russia’s 18th army was also hit with devastating drone strikes on October 6.

Separate footage showed kamikaze drones crashing through the depot’s roof at full speed.

Resistance spies working in occupied Crimea pinpointed the location of the Russian assets, according to Kyiv’s top officials.

The conflict in Ukraine continues to escalate with the death toll on both sides increasing.

Over 1,059,000 Russian fighters have been eliminated since February 2022, say Ukraine.

With Ukrainian civilians being targeted in deadly missile barrages almost every night across the country’s major cities – including Kyiv.

Donald Trump is now set to “go ballistic” if Putin doesn’t agree to a last-minute peace deal this week to finally end the fighting.

Us special envoy Steve Witkoff landed in Moscow earlier today for a showdown two days before the expiry of a deadline set by Trump and the threat of a new sledgehammer sanctions.

A source close to the US administration told the Financial Times: “If Witkoff comes back empty-handed, with absolutely nothing, Trump is going to go ballistic.”

Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has previously warned: “Each new ultimatum is a threat and a step towards war.”
