BORIS Johnson yesterday vowed to stop paying his TV licence fee until BBC bosses come clean over an edited Donald Trump speech.
He wants director-general Tim Davie to answer questions about a damning report, leaked last week, accusing the broadcaster of left-wing bias.
The memo, written by former BBC editorial and guidelines committee adviser Michael Prescott, highlights a Panorama episode broadcast a week before the US election last year.
It says the BBC misled viewers by splicing together footage from January 2021, making it appear the now re-elected President encouraged the Capitol Hill riot.
The White House labelled the BBC “100 per cent fake news”, with press secretary Karoline Leavitt saying British taxpayers were “forced to foot the bill for a Leftist propaganda machine”.
Ex-PM Mr Johnson has demanded Mr Davie “come out of his bunker” at BBC headquarters to respond to the report.

Urging other members of the public to join him in refusing to pay the licence fee, he wrote in the Daily Mail: “He should either give a convincing explanation for the left-wing bias at the BBC, or else resign in favour of someone who will stop the rot.
“Unless he does so I am going to stop paying my licence fee and suggest you do the same.”
The Prescott report implied the BBC did look into concerns but found there was “no attempt” to mislead the audience.
The BBC has said it does not comment on leaks and that it considers feedback carefully.
