A TEENAGER is fighting for his life after he was shot repeatedly in a horror attack on a residential street.
Emergency crews were scrambled to an address in Huyton, Merseyside, after the teen was shot in his back and leg last night.
Cops received reports a man had suffered gunshot wounds on Manley Road at around 8.50pm yesterday.
The teen was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.
Merseyside Police confirmed officers were carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the street.
Chief Inspector Andy Hughes said: “We are still in the very early stages of an investigation.
“We are determined to find the person or people responsible. We are relentless in our pursuit of those involved in gun crime.
“A young man is currently in hospital with significant injuries. I’m sure the community will be utterly appalled at what has happened this evening.
“I want to reassure local residents in the area, as well as the wider Merseyside, that we are taking this incident extremely seriously.
“This is a residential area and there will be people who may have witnessed the incident. I urge those people to tell us what you know.
“Also, if you have CCTV or dashcam footage, please let us know if you captured anything.
“Even the smallest of details could prove vital in our investigation.
“Information from the public is vital if we are to breakdown the organised crime groups.
“I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward as a matter of urgency.”
